Responsibility
The Senior Buyer is part of the Purchasing Department within the Global Supply Chain and reports to the Head of Procurement & Supply Chain. This role is critical in supporting the company’s procurement strategy. You will manage indirect purchases, including goods, services, supplies and materials required for day-to-day operations. You will work with a high degree of autonomy in managing and controlling supplier relationships, working closely with the Technical, Production, Finance and Sales Departments to achieve target performance. He/she will be responsible for managing procurement by assigned product categories, developing effective purchasing strategies to ensure economical, timely and high quality procurement. He/she will manage risks and search for new suppliers, dealing with their validation, contract negotiation and supply transition management; he/she will also support project procurement activities for new products. The position holder is responsible for the proper execution of procurement processes in the areas of Strategic Management and Source to Contract and is responsible for the daily monitoring of performance and results.
Required profile
Functional competences:
- Technical or economic university degree: Engineering or Business Management;
- Solid and proven purchasing experience in manufacturing companies, preferably multinational (more than 5 years of experience);
- Demonstrates ability to sourcing at best cost in technical environments;
- Proven contract negotiation skills. Extensive experience with contracts and agreements with suppliers and project management in multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Fluent knowledge of English;
- Proven ability to conduct complex, quantitative and statistical analyses, supplemented by qualitative input from multiple sources to draw conclusions and make recommendations;
- Logical thinking, attention to detail and a high level of commitment;
- Expertise with ERP systems, including DRP/MRP, purchasing and inventory modules (preferred);
- Experience in the use of Lean tools where applicable and collaboration with other functions throughout the supply chain;
- Advanced skills and experience in the use of Power BI and MS Office, in particular with Excel (advanced level), Word and Access.
